Batang Gilas suffered a heartbreaking loss to South Korea, 85-93, in the quarterfinals of 2016 FIBA Asia U18 Championship in Tehran, Iran.

6’8 Kemark Carino led the Batang Gilas with a near triple-double 18 points(8/17 FGM/A), 12 rebounds and 9 blocks. Jolo Mendoza had 19 points(7/17 FGM/A), 4 assists and 3 steals.

South Korea U18 was led by Seunghui Han with 24 points and 7 rebounds while Ha Yungi who had an in your face dunk over Kemark Carino contributed 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Jonas Tibayan and JV Gallego scored 13 points each while Fran Yu contributed 8 points.

South Korea U18 advances to the semifinals while the Batang Gilas was relegated to the classification phase for 5th to 8th slots.
